A new report which is published today revealed that the HTC is building an Android-powered blockchain phone whose name is HTC Exodus. Blockchain which is now the biggest tech buzzword in the present world is the technology which underlies the Bitcoin.
The phone is the decentralized and cryptographically secured, and the database is impossible to tamper with the hackers. This feature makes it secure for storing the financials transactions details. Ethereal has expanded on the Bitcoin’s original idea, and it lets anyone who runs fully fledged apps on the Blockchain.
With the introduction of the blockchain, each transaction gets a new block which is sent out to its members who are present in the network. If one of the members approves it, then the new transaction is added to the chain of the old transactions. The blockchain is said to be a safe form than the current centralized record and may help in the future. The phone which is created by HTC, it can handle cryptocurrency trading among the owners of the smartphone.
According to the HTC, Exodus phone will have a node which is a vital part of Bitcoin and Ethereum’s architecture, and it helps in broadcasting the messages across the networks. HTC said in a statement that, “We want to double and triple the number of nodes of Ethereum and Bitcoin. The idea is interesting, but running a node eats up processing power, storage, and bandwidth. It’s already possible to run a Bitcoin or an Ethereum node on a smartphone, but optimizing this for the mass market is not trivial.”
HTC Exodus will also have a cold storage feature which will allow the users to store their cryptocurrencies without any requirement for the internet. This will help in keeping the Bitcoins and other digital currencies safe from the hackers and grabbing hands.
Phil Chen, who was the creator of the Vive VR headset said, “Through Exodus, we are excited to be supporting underlying protocols such as Bitcoin, Lightning Networks, Ethereum, Dfinity, and more. We would like to support the entire blockchain ecosystem, and in the next few months we’ll be announcing many more exciting partnerships together.”
The company has not revealed any phone’s specs like camera performance, hardware specification etc. There is no price estimation of the phone also, and all these are expected to release in the year-end when this phone is unveiled.
