In a recent development, the Medical Broad of California has already ordered 35 months probation for Dr. Bob Sears, which is an Orange County Pediatrician who is well known for being sympathetic to the parents and opposed to vaccines.
In the year 2016, the board has threatened to revoke the Sear’s medical license for writing a doctor’s note for a 2-year-old boy wrongly and exempted him from all forms of childhood vaccinations. In this week, the medical board has settled on a lesser punishment.
Sears can keep practicing the medicine but it will require to take about 40 hours of medical education courses per year, and it is well as an ethics class and will be monitored by the fellow doctor. He has also notified all the hospitals and medical facilities where he practices all the order and there was no one to supervise the physician assistants or any nurse practitioners.
The supporters have expressed the relief that he has not been sentenced severely but some critics were pleased that the state did more than simply reprimand him. As per Dorit Reiss, who is UC Hastings law professor said that it is really strung and limiting that his ability to practice and he is now under the supervision now.
As per medical board, they said that Sears had found himself in trouble as he has written a vaccine exemption for a young boy without getting any basic medical information like the history of child’s vaccines. According to the filing, he had taken the boy’s mother at her word when she said that her son had lost urinary function and he went limp after getting the previous immunizations.
Sears said in a statement that medical board has four more cases which are lined up against him for writing the improper vaccine exemptions. The officials who are from the medical board said that the investigations that they are doing are confidential.
