One of the greatest game developer Ubisoft and one of the best web browsers Mozilla presently declared that they both have made a partnership to develop Clever-Commit, an AI (Artificial intelligence) -based coding assistant that studies from your code base’s bug and return to a former data to examine and raise potential new bugs as new code is committed. Ubisoft previously used this tool internally and Mozilla informed that it will run and move it to detect bugs in its Firefox code.

Generally, whenever you imagine or think of Mozilla, then it is likely that you are thinking about open source too. However, Clever-Commit is not an open source platform. One of Ubisoft spokesperson said that “Already being discussed. As there is no ideas or plans for Clever-Commit to be open sourced platform right now.” And while we know that Mozilla definitely uses other exclusive and proprietary tools to develop its open source software, it is unusual to watch the organization telling that it is helping to develop a tool that is not an open source or you can say presently available to all developers, even for a price tag.

Last year, Ubisoft first demonstrates the capabilities of the tool, then called Commit-Assistant. Presently, Mozilla says it will operate and work with Ubisoft by “offering programming language expertise in Rust, C++, and JavaScript, as strong as expertise in C++ code analysis and analysis of bug tracking systems.”

Mozilla will use this during the code review phase and if this will go or turn out to be great then it will use it again. At other stages during the development process. As Ubisoft and Mozilla were considering that Clever-Commit will seize or catch four to five out of six bugs before they are ever launched into the code.

“New launched every 6 to 8 weeks, getting assured the code we send and export experiences as accurate and clear as possible experiences crucial to the performance people with Firefox,” writes Mozilla’s Firefox release manager Sylvestre Ledru today. “The Firefox engineering team will start using Clever-Commit in its code-writing, testing and release process. Both of us prefer to use the tool during the code review phase, and if conclusive, at other stages of the code-writing process, in particular during automation.”

“As we all are very passionate to work with Ubisoft and to contribute to the development of Clever-Commit,” told Sylvestre Ledru, the point of Firefox launch and quality management. “process of fixing the bugs is a time-consuming and resource-intensive process. Furthermore, so for large and complex bodies of code like browsers and AAA games. By incorporating Clever-Commit into our development workflow, we will improve Firefox’s code-writing process by spotting bug patterns and flagging past patches earlier, at a stage when fixing a bug is a lot cheaper than upon release.”
