In a study, the group of researchers said that they have found that all the psychiatric disorders have got a genetic link.
The doctors usually use the sophisticated methods like DNA tests, AI analyses and other high-tech ways to treat this disorder along with to understand about the brain disorders like depression, Alzheimer’s and Schizophrenia. Despite this all, there is still some stuff which they can’t understand, and it makes a problem to the ability to treat it effectively. At present, there are hundreds of millions of people who are suffering from neurological and psychiatric illness.
The researchers have now started to make an effort so they will understand about the brain disorders. A team of international researchers under the name of the Brainstorm Consortium has set out to determine the genetic link which is between the different disorders. The study was published in the journal Science.
As per researchers, they have pulled the data from various genome-wide association studies (GWASs), and it may tool for tiny variations in the form of the human genome which usually crop up more frequently in the people who have certain disease or disorder. As of total, the GWASs which are analyzed by the researchers have included a data about 265,218 patients, and from them, at least 1 in 25 have brain disorders. 10 have a psychiatric disorder, and 15 have a neurological disorder. The GWASs have also 784,643 people who are not diagnosed with any of the disorders to act as control subjects.
The phenotype analysis reveals that the researchers have already found a few notable correlations which include a link which is between the person’s cognitive performance which is early in life and about the genetic risk for exhibiting a brain disorder which was both psychiatric and neurological disorder.
The authors of the study said to start doing further studies to understand more about the genetic link of this disorder.
