A huge storm has now gripped the red planet Mars. This storm has started since June 1st, 2018 and it continues till now. NASA is set to deliver a major news about this storm on Mars at 1:30 PM EDT on Wednesday. This news which was going to deliver by the NASA was believed it would say about the future preparation for the ongoing mission. The storm on Mars which was usually appeared on June 1st, 2018 has been blowing across the surface of the Mars along with a haze of dust, and it can be seen in images which were sent by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. This type of storm is said to be common on Mars, and it happens every year and lasts for about some weeks. The storm season Mars will continue till early 2019. On June 6th, 2018 the dust storm has blown much dust and the thickness of the dust in the sky of Mars is so much that it is now stopping the rays of sun to reach the surface and as a result, it dims the light on the planet. NASA’s Opportunity rover used its solar panels to get the energy from the sun rays to power itself. This decrease in sun rays now started to affect the rover, and the output of the opportunity's solar panels has been decreased a lot. To keep rover alive and to save the rest of the power, NASA researchers have shut down all the scientific operations that the rover is doing. The main objective of the NASA is now to keep the rover alive in the Mars by keeping it in warm temperature in the cold atmosphere of Mars. NASA’s Curiosity rover which was located on the other side of the planet is now helping the scientists to track the dust storms, and the rover has got its nuclear reactor which provides energy to it. As a contrast, Opportunity rover solely depends on the solar power for its energy and to keep itself warm in the red planet.
