Vitamin and Mineral supplement

In a new shocking study, the most commonly consumed vitamin and minerals supplements which provide no benefit for the health. The study was done by researchers at St. Michael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto.

The study paper which was published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology has reviewed the existing data and single randomized control trails which was published in English from January 2012 to October 2017 in which they involved most common supplements like multivitamins, calcium, vitamin C which has shown that no advantage in the human body nor helped in preventing the cardiovascular disease, stroke, heart attack or premature death.

According to Dr. David Jenkins, who is the lead author of the study said, “We were surprised to find so few positive effects of the most common supplements that people consume.” Our review found that if you want to use multivitamins, vitamin D, calcium or vitamin C, it does no harm — but there is no apparent advantage either.”

Research which was published in the year early 2018 shows that the global dietary supplements market is growing rapidly. The total net worth of the revenue for the sector in the year 2015 was $50 billion, and by the year 2024, it will be increased to about $278 billion. The survey which was done by Australia and it was released in May 2018 shows that about 43 percent of Australians had taken the vitamins during the year 2017.

The review of reports which was done by Jenkins and colleagues by studying A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B9, C, D and E and also some beta-carotene, magnesium, selenium, iron, zinc, and calcium.  As per Jenkins, “In the absence of significant positive data – apart from folic acid’s potential reduction in the risk of stroke and heart disease – it’s most beneficial to rely on a healthy diet to get your fill of vitamins and minerals. “So far, no research on supplements has shown us anything better than healthy servings of less processed plant foods including vegetables, fruits, and nuts.”
