There is a huge rumour about the Xiaomi’s new flagship smartphone among the Xiaomi’s fans. The company answered this rumour by releasing a teaser video which was uploaded to YouTube about the upcoming device which was dubbed as the Mi 8, and this model will include an In-display fingerprint sensor.
The new upcoming Mi 8 is said to be the sequel to the last year’s Mi 6, but there is also a rumour that the company will be skipping the Mi 7. The company has also planned some other two high-end phones which is Mix 2 and Mi Mix 2S which includes big displays.
This new video which was uploaded to YouTube shows the under display fingerprint scanner in action. The clip is about 3 second, and it does not uncover the phone entirely as it is hard to judge from that it is Mi 8 or any other phone. We can see the home screen of the phone which shows it has MIUI 9.
The in-glass fingerprint scanner is seen as it is light up as soon as the user placed their thumbs on the screen which is designated for the fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone within some seconds. The main part is the scanner which acts faster than in the demo and is faster than the Vivo X series devices.
Xiaomi has said that it is going to source the next-gen fingerprint sensors which are either from Synaptics or Goodix. Xiaomi’s next flagship phone will not have any under-display fingerprint sensor and a 3D facial recognition which may be included. This module is of Mi 8, and it has leaked a couple of days back which is seem to b same as that of iPhone X. This facial recognition is not taking any 2D image of the user, but it creates the 3D map of the user’s face which is to make the process more secure and safe.
Mi 8 seems to boost the number of the top-end internals which includes Snapdragon 845 chip, 64GB of UFS 2.1 storage and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It will also have Qi wireless charging support and have a 4,000 mAh battery. The screen will be of OLED, and it will measure in 5.45 inches. The operating software is expected to be Android 8.1 Oreo which will be coming on the phone as pre-installed.
